Our Process: How We Match Nurses with the Right Job
Finding the right nursing job isn't just about qualifications - it's about the perfect fit between a nurse’s skills, lifestyle, and career goals, and a healthcare facility’s unique needs. At Vanguard Health, we’ve developed a proven, people-first recruitment process that ensures nurses are placed in roles where they feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Step 1: Getting to Know You
We start by learning about you - your experience, specialisations, availability, location preferences, and long-term career aspirations. Whether you're a new graduate or a seasoned RN, our goal is to understand what motivates you and where you’ll flourish.
What we ask about:
- Areas of clinical expertise
- Preferred shifts and contract lengths
- Desired work environments (e.g., hospitals, aged care, community)
- Location flexibility or relocation interest
- A current CV/resume
- Two current contactable references
Step 2: Verifying Credentials & Compliance
Next, we handle all compliance and credential checks to make sure you’re fully job-ready depending on what role you have applied for. We assist with gathering and verifying:
- Nursing registration (AHPRA)
- Immunisation records
- Police and working with children checks
- Required certifications (e.g., CPR, Manual Handling, First Aid)
This ensures a smooth, professional transition into your new role.
Step 3: Job Matching with Purpose
With your profile complete, we begin the matchmaking process. Our experienced and professional recruitment consultants pair you with roles that match your goals, skills, and preferences. We only put you forward for jobs you’re genuinely suited for.
You stay in control: You’ll have the chance to accept or decline any role offered - no pressure, ever.
Step 4: Ongoing Support
Once a role is confirmed, we help you prepare. We take care of organising your travel and accomodation and any other logistical issues before deployment. And once you’re placed? We don’t disappear.
We provide ongoing support, including:
- Regular check-ins during placements
- Assistance with payroll, rostering, and shifts
Step 5: Building a Long-Term Partnership
Many of our nurses come back to us again and again - or stay with us for years - because we invest in long-term relationships. Whether you’re looking for temporary agency work, rural opportunities, or longer term placements, we’re here for every stage of your journey.
